Professor

Teaching is a great passion of mine. I started as an adjunct a few years after graduating from Hofstra University, then was lucky enough to be hired there as an adjunct professor.

I taught sports writing to undergraduate students for three semesters before taking a hiatus. Many of my students have graduated and gone into various careers in journalism, whether it be working as reporters, editors or finding jobs in newer media.

I have also taught advanced news writing. The class was small (just six students) which allowed me to run it more like a professional newsroom, which garnered fantastic results from the students.

After having several meetings with the full-time staff, I pitched a class that was based solely in social-media reporting tools. I pitched, crafted and now teach Social Sports Journalism, the first class of its kind at Hofstra.
